A day school's infirmary is usually one room, one nurse or first-aider, a register and a phone. Most visits are ordinary: a headache in third period, a fever before lunch, a grazed knee from games. The work is recording each one properly, knowing a child's allergies before giving anything, and handing a sick child to the right adult. Vawsum keeps that everyday work quick and keeps the heavier tools out of the way until a school needs them. Each child has one health record: blood group, height and weight, allergies by type, chronic conditions, regular medications, family history, family doctor and a local guardian, with prescriptions and certificates attached. Parents fill in and update most of it themselves from the app, so the record is ready before the first visit. When a child walks in, the nurse records the visit in a short guided form: the reason from the school's own list, symptoms, temperature and pulse, care given and precautions. The child's allergies and conditions sit on the same screen while the nurse works. If the child needs to go home, the nurse raises a Secure+ gate pass from the visit itself, and the adult collecting is verified by OTP before the child leaves. If the child needs a hospital, an incident report records where they went and how the case closed. Behind the room, the medicine cupboard is tracked by batch with expiry and low-stock alerts, vaccinations and growth are recorded year on year, and every register exports to Excel or PDF.

1. Can I opt for just the Infirmary Management module?
Yes. A new school can start with the Infirmary Management module on its own and add other Vawsum products later, whenever it is ready.
2. Is it suitable for a day school with one nurse?
Yes. The module is designed first for day schools, where one nurse or first-aider handles short visits through the day. The everyday screens are kept simple, and the more detailed tools stay out of the way until the school needs them.
3. What goes into a student's health record?
Blood group, height, weight, allergies by type, chronic conditions, regular medications, family history, a local guardian, the family doctor and clinic, and uploaded documents such as prescriptions and fitness certificates.
4. Can parents enter their child's health details?
Yes. Parents fill in and update blood group, height, weight, allergies, conditions, family history, local guardian and family doctor from the Vawsum app, so the infirmary is not chasing paper forms each session.
5. How does the nurse record a visit?
Through a short guided form: pick the student, choose the reason from the school’s own list, note symptoms, temperature and pulse, the care given and any precautions. A new reason can be added from the form itself.
6. Does the nurse see a child's allergies while treating them?
Yes. The child’s recorded allergies and chronic conditions are shown on the visit form and in the visit details, so they are in front of the nurse before any care is given.
7. What happens when a child has to go home unwell?
The nurse raises a Secure+ gate pass from the visit. It records who is collecting the child, their relationship and phone number, verifies them by OTP, and produces a printable pass, so the hand-over is on record.
8. How are injuries and hospital cases recorded?
Through an incident report that records the hospital, admission status, date and time, the source of the information and a closing summary. Corrections carry a reason, and the report can be printed.
9. Can we record vaccinations?
Yes. Each dose is recorded with given and due dates, the provider and supporting evidence, and entries go through a review step before they are accepted onto the child’s vaccination card.
10. Can we track height, weight and BMI across years?
Yes. A growth chart and a year-on-year table track height and weight, with BMI calculated from both. Blood pressure and oxygen saturation can be recorded on the Vitals and Growth screen.
11. Does it track medicine stock and expiry?
Yes. Infirmary items are recorded with batches, opening stock and stock movements. Expiry dates and a minimum quantity per item raise alerts on the dashboard before the cupboard runs short.
12. Can we schedule a visiting doctor?
Yes. The school keeps a list of the doctors who serve it and schedules their visits, so the infirmary and the office know when the doctor is next on campus.
13. Can we get a class-wise list of students with allergies?
Yes. A student directory filtered by class lists allergies, chronic conditions and current alerts, and can be exported to share with class teachers or take on a school trip.
14. Can the infirmary registers be exported?
Yes. Every health register, including the visit and vaccination registers, exports to Excel and PDF.
